A man wearing a gas mask and a GoPro camera twice failed to climb a teller counter at a Mercer County bank on Wednesday before riding a motorcycle, authorities said.
Princeton Police said Thursday that the man walked into TD Bank on State Road in Princeton at about 3:20 p.m. and approached an unoccupied teller’s desk. According to Lieutenant Christopher Tash, the man did not see any employees, he tried to jump over the table but was unable to do so.
After the would-be thief tried and failed again, Tash said, he left the bank and fled toward Princeton Street.
Police described the man as about 5ft 4 or 5ft 5ft. He was wearing green pants, a black T-shirt, black gloves, gray New Balance sneakers, and a chest strap with a GoPro camera attached to it. He was also wearing a gas mask and a black German-style half-shell motorcycle helmet.
Police said the man did not show a weapon or make any threats, and he remained at large as of Thursday noon.
