Vivo is said to be working on a new smartphone that is expected to come with a massive 200W fast charging support. Vivo was previously said to offer 100W fast charging with the phone, but now, with a new charging adapter, the company expects fast charging capabilities to exceed 200W. The flagship smartphone is now expected to support 20V/10A charging. It is also said that the entire line will be compatible with 120W, 80W and 66W charging rates.
Tipster Digital Chat Station, posted on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, that Vivo is currently working on a flagship that will support 200W fast charging. He said that the company was earlier planning to offer the smartphone with 100W fast charging only, but since the company changed to a new charging adapter that supports 20V, it was able to offer fast charging support up to 200W. The tip added that this makes the entire range compatible with 120W, 80W and 66W charging rates. It has also been hinted that the smartphone may get a battery with a capacity greater than 4000 mAh.
Neither the name nor any other details regarding the specifications and availability of the smartphone were revealed. Vivo also hasn’t confirmed the launch or the 200W fast charging claims.
The latest launch from the company was the Vivo X80 Pro which was launched in April this year. As a reminder, the smartphone came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and a quad rear camera. It has a 4700 mAh battery with 80W fast charging support and wireless charging support. I got a 6.78 inch touch screen with 120Hz refresh rate. At the front, it came with a 32MP selfie camera. On the back, it is equipped with a 50 MP primary sensor, a 48 MP sensor, a 12 MP sensor and an 8 MP sensor. It comes with Android 12 and OriginOS Ocean out of the box.
