Summer League | Paulo Banchero 1 Jabari Smith Jr 0

Calendar chance, or not, the Las Vegas Summer League kicked off with a duel between the Magic and the Rockets, and all eyes were inevitably on Paulo Banchero and Jabari Smith Jr., respectively, No. 1 and 3 in the draft.

The former Duke winger did not disappoint with eight points in the first quarter, to finish with 17 units, at 5/12 including 2/2 on 3 throws, 5/5 on shots, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Banchero set the tone for the match and showed his potential on both sides of the field. A step back by three points, a fade, a solid drive, but also a good read in defense … The No. 1 of the draft dominated the debate against Smith Jr., more shy, limited to 10 points at 4/10 to, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

The referee for this duel is wing Caleb Hustan. Magic’s #32 pick in the last draft, scored 20 points with 5 of 9 three-pointers. RJ Hampton goes there by double, and Orlando easily won 91-77.

On Saturday, another beautiful duel is in perspective as Magic faces Keegan Murray, the fourth draft pick.
