Summer League | Missiles resist thunder

After facing the #1 draft pick Paulo Banchero in the opening, Jabari Smith Jr. and the Rockets #2 followed up with Chet Holmgren’s pick and Thunder. This time there is a victory (90-88) at the end.

The rookie was less shy and more energetic than facing Orlando, scoring 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks, but 5 of 19 on shots! It was more Josh Christopher who appeared with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. But he’s no more skilled: 6 out of 17 shots.

The two teams were close throughout the match. Dominated in the first quarter, Texans reacted in the second, before they saw thunder accelerate in the third. In the final seconds with only one difference in possession, Christopher and T. Ty Washington Jr. scored the decisive baskets for Houston.

Duo Josh Giddey – Chet Holmgren scored 26 points (14 for the first and 12 for the second) and collected 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Rookie OKC also added 4 blocks, but was also clumsy in Smith and Christopher with 3 of 10 in picks.
