Hinduja Group Corporation Nxtdigital and Thaicom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to form a strategic partnership to enter the market for satellite broadband and related services in India.
The agreement provides for a partnership that includes the deployment of broadband systems via satellite (BoS) on a capacity focused on India. BoS systems can be optimized to provide additional capacity on a software-defined high-throughput satellite, augmenting the current IPSTAR-1 – the world’s first full-scale satellite operating over India for the past several years.
The agreement includes discussion of a potential partnership in NDL’s broadband subsidiary – OneOTT Intertainment Limited (OIL) – which is India’s fourth largest private internet service provider with more than one million customers and a presence in more than 150 cities and towns, according to a joint statement by the two companies.
Details of the partnership elements are under discussion and will be documented in final agreements between Thaicom and NDL, the statement said.

The two companies also agreed to establish a Center of Excellence to develop new satellites and related digital technologies through artificial intelligence and analytics.
