N.J. driver, 32, dies after car crashes into trees, police say



A Stanhope man was killed Thursday when the car he was driving veered off a highway and crashed into several trees in Morris County, authorities said.

New Jersey State Police Sergeant Luke Mueller, 32, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix on the south ramp of Route 206 to Interstate 80 east in Mount Olive when the vehicle veered off the right-hand side of the road before crashing into trees shortly after 3 p.m. . Philip Carey citing a preliminary investigation. The driver of the car was fatally injured in the wreckage.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and no further information is available.
