A man was found several times, Thursday, in a Bergen County home, where witnesses told police that several people were carrying guns, authorities said.
The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. at a home on Center Street in the Criskill neighborhood, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
“Kriskill Police responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at that address and a report of multiple people at the scene carrying weapons,” the attorney general said in a statement.
Authorities said the victim, whose name has not been released, was shot multiple times. He was taken to the area hospital, where his condition was not available Friday morning.
Musila said no arrests have been made, and local police and the attorney general’s office are investigating.
The shooting was the first violent crime to make headlines in Criskill since June 2020, when 51-year-old Devna Rusasco was shot to death and her body dumped into a stream in an Overbeck County park.
Nicholas Quirazza, now 21, of Lodi, is charged with murder and other charges in the case. Records show that he is still in Bergen County Jail. A teen who allegedly aided Coirazza has been charged with juvenile crimes, including disturbing human remains, tampering with evidence and obstructing an arrest.
