LG Unveils New OLED and IPS UltraGear Gaming Monitor Lineup: Details


LG has unveiled its UltraGear gaming monitor range with the 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900 models. These gaming monitors were launched with a new design, latest display technology, gaming features and connectivity features. The UltraGear 32GQ950 main display features a 4K Nano IPS display and advanced True Wide (ATW) Polariser technology. The second monitor in the lineup, the UltraGear 32GQ850, comes with a QHD Nano IPS display with ATW. The South Korean company also introduced the brand’s first OLED gaming monitor, the UltraGear 48GQ900. Prices for these monitors have not yet been revealed.

LG UltraGear Monitors Price and Availability

LG said that new gaming monitors from its UltraGear lineup will be available in Japan starting this month. The availability of these screens will subsequently expand to other markets including North America, Europe and Asia. Pricing for these monitors has not been announced yet and their availability in India is also unknown.

LG’s new UltraGear 48GQ900 is the first-ever OLED gaming monitor of its kind. It comes with a 47.5-inch OLED display with a 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels). The screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz which improves to 138Hz upon overclocking. Response time 0.1 ms from gray to gray (GtG). The screen can be used for both PC and console games as well. The screen display features LG’s low-reflection anti-glare coating to reduce visual distraction for an immersive gaming experience. It also comes with a remote control for convenience.

The new OLED gaming monitor also features Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium for adaptive sync. There are three HDMI ports, a display port, and a USB 3.0 port for connectivity. It also contains two 20W speakers. There is also a stand, but it is not adjustable.

The South Korean company has added two new IPS monitors to its UltraGear gaming monitor lineup. The flagship model, the 32GQ950, comes with a 31.5-inch Nano IPS display with ATW Polariser. The screen has a resolution of 4K UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) and a refresh rate of 144 Hz overclocked to 160 Hz. Response time is 1ms GtG. The screen is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified and offers up to 1000 nits of brightness. The monitor has two HDMI 2.1 ports, one display port, and one USB 3.0 port.

The second screen, the UltraGear 32GQ850, is also a 31.5-inch Nano IPS display with ATW Polarizer but with a QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels). This monitor has the highest refresh rate – 240 Hz and 260 Hz when overclocked – of the three. The monitor has a response time of 1ms GtG and is VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified. For adaptive sync, the monitor gets Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA Adaptive Sync. For connectivity, you get two HDMI ports, a display port, and a USB 3.0 port.

Both monitors come with a stand that provides pivot, height and tilt adjustments.
