Kia Says EV6 Bookings Opened in India, Only 100 Units Available For Sale in 2022

Carmaker Kia India said on Thursday it has started bookings for the EV6, its first electric model in the country. Built on a custom EV platform – the Global Electric Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV6 marks the beginning of Kia’s EV journey in the country.

Only 100 units of the EV6, which comes as a fully built unit (CBU), will be available for sales in India this year. The imported model is scheduled to be launched in the country next week.

An EV6 can be reserved for a nominal amount of Rs. 3 lakhs exclusively through 15 select agencies across 12 cities. It added in a statement that customers can also book through the Kia India website.

On a single full charge, the car can travel up to 528 kilometers and can run from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.2 seconds, according to the statement.

The car can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 18 minutes using a 350 kWh charger.

It comes with AWD (in select trims), a panoramic sunroof, multiple drive modes, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane-keep assist and more than 60 connected features.
