The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max were the best-selling phones in April 2022, according to a report by Counterpoint Research. The Galaxy S22 Ultra was not only the best-selling smartphone from Samsung, but also the best-selling Android device.
The iPhone 13 accounted for 5.5% of global smartphone shipments in April. The iPhone 13 Pro Max came in second, but the gap between the two models is still quite large, with the Pro Max garnering 3.4% of the market share. Apple’s iPhone 13 Pro contributed 1.8% of sales, ranking third.
Other iPhone phones in the top ten list were the 2022 iPhone 12 and iPhone SE, the first being the best-selling phone last year, and it maintained its popularity thanks to demand in Japan and India. On the other hand, iPhone SE (2022) saw a growth in shipments thanks to the great reception in Japan.
Moving on to Samsung, the company usually occupies a few positions in the top ten with the cheapest phones, but in April, the brand managed to occupy four positions. The Galaxy S22 Ultra ranked fifth as the best selling Android phone.
The S22 Ultra model captured a market share of 1.5%, while the Galaxy A13 ranked eighth with 1.4% of global sales. The new Galaxy A53 5G took the ninth place.
Completing the list of best-selling phones on the 10th of April is the Redmi Note 11 LTE phone. The model contributed 11% of Xiaomi’s total sales, with exceptionally high demand in the Caribbean and Latin America. This audience is very important to Xiaomi, which has been unable to properly compete with Samsung and Apple in recent months due to supply chain issues.
