The Hunterdon County Health Department will distribute free at-home COVID-19 testing kits July 1 and July 20 from 2-7 p.m. at the County Route 12 complex in Raritan Township, Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren announced at the July 5 Board of Commissioners meeting.
Van Doren, Hunterdon Board Coordinator to the Department of Health, reported, “In order to continue to provide testing resources to the public, with the county’s Covid-19 testing clinic closed on Reaville Street in Flemington, the Department of Health will distribute PCR and rapid test kits, with supplies continuing, At the Route 12 complex on July 13 and 20. More distribution dates will be added if demand exists.”
Van Doren said, “The county COVID-19 testing clinic has been the most successful, having performed more than 8,000 tests since it opened on February 3. The clinic has been particularly appreciated by those who need test results for work, travel and school. The health team will monitor infection data. Corona virus closely, and if there is a need to set up a clinic again, the department will be ready to do so.”
Van Doren noted that home test kits are also available at Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid pharmacies in the area.
