HCST hosts industry partner breakfast; Abra Health acquires multi-specialty dental practice in Kearny | Business Notes



Hudson County Schools of Technology host a breakfast from industry partners

The Hudson County Schools of Technology held its 2022 Industry Partner Breakfast Tuesday, June 28, at the Frank J. Gargiulo Campus to recognize the educational and professional contributions made by the many HCST partners across the state. The event also provided an opportunity for partners to network with each other, as well as with the teachers and staff who attended, along with a group of student ambassadors and alumni working in the region.

Industry partners attending the event were awarded plaques in recognition of their commitment to helping HCST students learn about career and technical education. Among the companies and organizations honored are the Hudson County Improvement Authority, the New Jersey Army National Guard, the Hudson County Attorney’s Office, Eastern Millworks, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, and many others.

Abra Health acquires Kearney dental practice

Abra Health, recently renamed from The ChildSmiles Group, has announced its acquisition of For All Children and Adult Dental Dental, a multidisciplinary dental practice in Kearny. The clinic will be renamed Abra Dental and will continue to welcome patients in pediatric and adult dentistry as well as orthodontics.

Kearney Mayor Alberto G. Santos will chair a ribbon-cutting ceremony to announce the practice’s renaming and expansion on July 7 at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Department of Pediatric and Adult Dentistry has been providing pediatric and adult dental care to the residents of Kearney for over 30 years. Founded in 2008, Abra Dental is embracing the addition of the Kearny-based practice to its three existing Abra Dental practices, two in Newark and one in Elizabeth. Abra Health also operates the Children’s Oral Surgery Center in Fair Lawn that treats the most complex cases, and two multidisciplinary dental offices in Whippany and Berkeley Heights. The practice recently acquired four dental clinics in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Kearny Abra Dental is expanding to receive more patients. The second floor of the building will now focus on pediatric patients while the third floor is being built to accommodate the growing number of orthodontic patients. The first floor will be renovated for the adult general dental service.

Abra Health is scheduled to open additional multidisciplinary dental and pediatric primary care offices in 2022 and early 2023 in northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.

The historic Hoboken building is $56 million

The Grand Adams complex, which spanned an entire building in Mile Square City for more than 100 years, has sold for $56 million according to a report from jerseydigs.com.

The building was purchased by Skylight Real Estate and PCCP LLC. The Grand Adams complex has up to 99 floors and is located at 300 Grand St. The complex was built in 1906 as the Keuffler & Essel Factory.

Career Event at Jersey City Medical Center

Jersey City Medical Center will host a recruitment event for registered nurses and patient care technicians Thursday, July 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the new emergency department at Jersey City Medical Center, 355 Jersey Ave, Jersey City.

Those who apply for the ANCC-accredited nurse residency program with tutor and teacher support may receive a $5,000 night shift login bonus, 6-month clinical ladder program, benefits, tuition reimbursement, and loan forgiveness opportunities.

New buildings in Jersey City Heights

There are two new condominiums on the market in Jersey City Heights, according to Jersey Diggs.

The two houses consist of three bedrooms, each with outdoor space and parking. It is located near Washington Park at 9 Irving and is listed by Francesco Mazzaferro of Team Francesco at Christie’s International Real Estate.

New York Army National Guard Promotions

Major General Ray Shields, the commanding general of New York State, announced the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their ability to take on additional responsibility and leadership.

Steven Bello of Jersey City and assigned to Company A, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion to Private 1st Class on April 16.

Sharafuddin Shego of Jersey City and assigned to the 133rd Support Company, was promoted to sergeant on 22 April.

A new target is coming to the west side of Jersey City

Target may open its second location in Jersey City according to a report from jerseydigs.com that says Target has submitted a request to activate the address listed as 381 Route 440, Kmart’s former home.

Jersey City’s current target in Newport is at 100 14th Street, and a timeline has not been revealed yet for when the new space will open.

Weichert, Downtown Jersey Realtors recognized office

Weichert, Realtors, announced that Weichert’s Jersey City Downtown office and top-production sales team were honored for outstanding performance in April.

The Jersey City Downtown office, operated by Robert Sanchez, had the most listings and revenue units in the Weichert sales district, which consisted of offices throughout Hudson County and parts of Bergen County.

Among the teams in the region, Nader Rezaei’s team led Weichert’s sales region by dollar volume, listings, revenue units and sales in April. The team shared the highest honors for having the most rolls in the entire company for the month.

Weichert, Realtors, announced that Sales Associate Brian Lopes with the Jersey City Exchange Place office was honored for his outstanding achievements in the industry regionally in April.

Lopes shared the highest honors for the most listings in the Weichert sales district, which consisted of offices throughout Hudson County and parts of Bergen County.
