Hazard pay for essential workers now | Opinion

During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, essential workers like us were told time and time again how important and meaningful our work was. Before vaccines were available, every day it felt like you were stepping into the unknown, essential workers had to keep things running: to keep people fed, to keep their packages, to care for loved ones in healthcare facilities and to care for children.

To do this, we took unimaginable dangers so that others could remain safely in their homes.
