Cops seeking tips after South Jersey man shot to death on city street



Authorities are looking for help in investigating a fatal shooting Tuesday evening in Salem City.

Police responded to the Miller and Carpenter Streets area shortly after 7 p.m. and found Marquis Coleman, 24, of Salem, with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement from Salem County District Attorney Christine J. Telsey.

The attorney general said Coleman was taken to Salem Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Salem City Police Department at 856-935-0033 or Detective Jonathan Seidel of the Salem County District Attorney’s Office at 856-935-7510, ext. 8333.
