Redmi is rumored to be working on the Ultra variant of the Redmi K50. It is expected to come with a 2K OLED touch screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone is likely to get Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and 100W fast charging. The Redmi smartphone is expected to be launched in the latter half of this year, but the company has yet to confirm the phone. Redmi had launched the K50 and K50 Pro in March of this year in China and the rumored smartphone is said to be the flagship model in this series.
Tipster Digital Chat Station, on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, said that Redmi is working on a new flagship smartphone in the Redmi K50 series which is expected to be launched on the second of this year. The Redmi K50 Ultra is rumored to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and is said to feature a 2K OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The alleged smartphone is also expected to come with Dolby Vision support and 100W fast charging.
In March, Redmi launched in China two new smartphones belonging to the K50 series, the Redmi K50 and the Redmi K50 Pro. The rumored new Redmi K50 Ultra smartphone is said to be the flagship variant in the lineup.
As a reminder, the Redmi K50 Pro came with a 6.67-inch OLED 2K display and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone screen can deliver up to 1200 nits of maximum brightness and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC 4nm. On the back, the smartphone has a 100MP 1/1.52-inch primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro lens. In the foreground is a 20MP camera for taking selfies and video calls.
Although the company has not yet confirmed the Redmi K50 Ultra and its features, it can be expected that the smartphone will have similar specifications as the Redmi K50 Pro, but with some performance improvements and a higher price.
