Oppo A53 5G Getting Stable Android 12-Based ColorOS 12 Update in India, Global Roll Out May Soon Follow


Oppo A53 5G is an affordable smartphone launched in 2020 that runs on Android 10-ColorOS 7.2 operating system. The Chinese tech giant has now announced that it is rolling out the stable ColorOS 12 operating system running Android 12 for this phone in India with software version F.07. Oppo has not shared the release schedule for this update in other global regions. However, it is expected to be rolled out soon. The company has warned users that some third-party apps may not work after this update. Users are advised to create backups to prevent data loss.

Oppo has started rolling out the official ColorOS 12 update based on Android 12 for the Oppo A53 5G. Users in India can go to Settings > Software updates > Detect ColorOS 12 version to get this update. To be eligible for this update, Oppo A53 5G users in India must have the C.23 firmware version. Before the update, users are advised to recharge the phone and create data backups.

Once the update is complete, Oppo has warned that the Oppo A53 5G may heat up, lag or lose battery life quickly. It is recommended to turn off the smartphone screen and charge the device for an entire night after installing this update. The phone will start working normally after a few days of use. This update brings an improved interface for Oppo A53 5G with updated icons, system apps and quick settings panel. It also adds a private dashboard, microphone, and camera.

The Oppo A53 5G was launched in December 2020. It has a 6.5 inch Full HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. As for the optics, it has a triple rear camera setup of 16MP and an 8MP selfie camera. The smartphone is equipped with a 4,040 mAh battery with 10W charging support.
